As the leader of the State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology, Prof. Wensong Tan is leading his team in the continuous exploration of the key technologies of large-scale animal cell culture, always wanting to do something "up to the sky and down to the earth". After more than 30 years of accumulation, Prof. Tan and his team achieved fruitful results, participating in and completing more than 30 national and enterprise key projects, publishing more than 300 academic papers in core journals in China and abroad, inventing more than 30 patents, and training more than a hundred people with master's degree, doctorate and other shortage talents in this field.

However, the difficulty in transforming laboratory results into industrialized production has always bothered Prof. Tan Wensong. Fortunately, Prof. Tan met a group of like-minded partners, Dr. Xuping Liu, Dr. Fan Li, and Dr. Liang Zhao, who are responsible for R&D, and Mr. Keyu Shi, who is responsible for production and quality. With the same aspiration and mission, they started the business together. On December 24, 2014, in response to the urgent need for the development of China's bio-industry, with the support of the major projects of Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, BioEngine was officially established. Later, Ms. Shen Jie joined the company and takes charge of marketing and sales, and the business of the company gradually rose and slowly got on the right track.
